CASI Progress Presented at an International Conference on Social Innovation in Vienna

On 18-19 November 2015, an international conference took place in Vienna, focusing on social innovation and entitled “Social Innovation 2015: Pathways to Social Change”. The conference was organised by the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) in the frame of the SI-DRIVE (Social Innovation: Driving Force of Social Change) project, which aims to extend knowledge about social innovation and involves 25 partners from across the world. As part of a thematic session on “Participation, motivation and responsibility”, Ms. Maria Schwarz-Wölzl from ZSI presented the CASI project, the participatory approaches used within CASI and in particular the methodology and results of the citizen panels, held in 12 European countries. In her talk, Ms. Schwarz-Wölzl shared lessons learned from the experience with citizen engagement in the process of defining research priorities at the European level. The audience demonstrated great interest in the engagement approaches used by CASI partners and the achieved outcomes. You can find more on the results of the citizen panels in the document “50 Citizen Visions on Sustainable Futures” in the section “Latest documents” on the CASI website.
